5th of August- (slightly delayed) review

Make Tea Not War

7.00-9.00pm, 5th August (preview) and 27th and 28th August

Quaker Meeting House, Venue 40

Majk Stokes (comedy singer-songwriter) and Milly Hoddo (handpan drummer)

A delight of unique songs, both funny and serious, poetry and music.

Highly recommended. Not to be missed!

Majk started the evening with his own songs on subjects ranging from love (including a quirky love song about beetroot) to the effects of too much caffeine, bears in the woods, and time travel.

He also tackled environmental issues, with some serious messages but also with an air of entertainment, including a song about nitrogen, a poem hot off the press about rearranging deckchairs and James Lovelock, and some great guitar playing.

Majk literally had the whole audience buzzing with his song ‘we need the bees.’

Milly and her accompanist Ryan continued the show with handpan drums accompanied by two handcrafted guitars. The music was truly mesmerising, and included a fusion of jazz and reggae and some harmonious blues.

If you like a bit of a buzz, some real entertainment and unique music sounds, this is for you!

Next show on 27th and 28th August
